I became a physician after growing up with family members who had several major health problems and spending a large portion of my childhood in the hospital. At an early age, I was able to appreciate the invaluable, life-altering care physicians provided to patients and their family members. Due to those personal experiences in my youth, I was inspired to become part of the healthcare community and to provide the same excellent care that my family members received. My approach to patient care is to provide excellent, evidence-based care with a personal connection. I want my patients to feel as educated as possible when it comes to their health and management options, and for us, as a mutual team, to determine the optimal treatment plan that incorporates the best available healthcare with individualized precision. As a cancer surgeon, I also want to ensure that all my patients feel we have a dedicated professional and personal relationship. My clinical practice encompasses the entire spectrum of surgical oncology. I have a professional focus on intra-abdominal cancers, including gastrointestinal, hepatobiliary, pancreatic, and peritoneal (abdominal-based) malignancies. Outside of work, my time is dedicated to family, and I continue to serve in the U.S. Army Reserves.
