  • Matthew F. Stauff

    Matthew F. Stauff

Originally from New England, Matthew Stauff has lived and worked in North Carolina since 2006. He started his career in private practice before launching a seven-year tenure at Legal Aid of North Carolina, where he refined his analytical skills in child custody cases, housing issues, and unemployment benefits disputes. In order to focus his practice more fully on family law cases, Matthew joined his colleague Jordan Gross to form Stauff & Gross in 2014. Matthew represents clients in divorce proceedings, child custody hearings and family law matters. He also accepts appointments as a Certified Parenting Coordinator in high-conflict custody cases. While he is an experienced litigator and is willing to advocate for his clients in court, Matthew believes that court should not always be the first option: Working out matters amicably through negotiation and settlement generally leads to a more efficient, cost-effective outcome. Working with Jordan at Stauff & Gross has allowed Matthew to not only draw upon his extensive background in family law cases, but also get to know his clients as people. "Because we're a small firm, we're able to focus on the client," he says. "I'm fortunate to be able to help our clients work out their legal issues." Matthew lives in North Raleigh with his son, dog, and two cats. Outside of the firm, he can be found working in his yard, reading, fishing, and enjoying time with his family and friends both within and outside of the legal field.

  • Jordan Hardy Gross

    Jordan Hardy Gross

Originally from Greenville, North Carolina, Jordan Gross brings both experience and passion to the firm. After deciding in high school that she wanted to be an attorney, Jordan went on to clerk for a large Atlanta-based law firm upon graduating from college. Confirming her interest in guiding clients through complex legal issues, she went on to earn her law degree and began her career focusing on custody and domestic violence cases. Representing clients in these situations provided Jordan with the experience and knowledge that she would ultimately bring to Stauff & Gross. Jordan joined her colleague Matthew Stauff to form Stauff & Gross in 2014. Her mission was to take her experience and to focus it in a unique way, providing clients with the highest quality representation at a reasonable cost while helping them navigate the emotional side effects of contentious divorce, custody, and domestic violence cases. Since then, Jordan has helped clients navigate the legal system and heal financially and emotionally from the stress of their legal disputes. Jordan lives in Raleigh with her husband and three young children. When she isn't working, she can be found spending time at the beach, baking, and cheering on the Carolina Tarheels.
